Bar Harbor Savings and Loan's Michael, Nancy, Vicky, and their families all pitched in at this year’s annual Take Pride in Acadia Day, put on by Friends of Acadia. Together with hundreds of other volunteers, they raked leaves and cleared drainage ditches from miles of historic carriage roads in preparation for winter.

The volunteer effort, now in its twenty-sixth year, focuses on areas where clogged drainage ditches and culverts could result in significant damage to road surfaces during the freeze-and-thaw cycles of a coastal Maine winter.
