Chowder and Chili Chowdown: A Community Event

Bar Harbor Savings and Loan was proud to be the lead sponsor for Island Connections’ fourth annual
Chowder & Chili Chowdown at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel in Bar Harbor.
Staff at the Bank participated in the event, where they enjoyed salad, bread, drinks and dessert
made available for over 250 guests. “We enjoyed tasting an amazing variety of delicious chowders and
chili. Meeting with and spending time with people in our neighborhoods, while helping Island
Connections at the same time, makes the event spectacular year after year. We are very pleased with
the turnout and the support for Island Connections from the community and made possible through the
Bank’s support.” said Nancy Sawyer, one of the Bank’s participants.

Rhonda Sawyer and Zoran Manev were among the BHSL staff who participated in the event.
Rhonda
is also a member of the Island Connections Board.
Along with the Bank and other local businesses, and participation from members of the
community, Island Connections raised money to support its mission to provide transportation for
seniors and people with disabilities in the Mount Desert Island area. For more information about
