Bar Harbor Savings and Loan Participates in Friends of Acadia Earth Day Celebration

Bar Harbor Savings and Loan staff and friends took advantage of a gorgeous day to participate in the annual Friends of Acadia Earth Day clean-up brigade on Saturday April 27th.
This year BHSLA was assigned to a section of Eagle Lake Road. A dedicated group of volunteers from BHSLA spent the morning cleaning up litter and debris along the roadside. The group included Rhonda Sawyer, Ardette Spear, Jacquie & Ken Colburn, Maureen & Wyatt Kane, and David & Jill Cohen, The clean-up crew picked up items such as aluminum cans, bottles, plastic bags, as well as various paper and cardboard products that had been strewn along the roadside.
Group organizer, President & CEO, David Cohen said, “It was a beautiful Spring Day, and our group of dedicated staff, retirees and friends spent their morning giving back to our community, helping to keep the island roads free of trash.”
This year a total of 259 volunteers collected more than 300 bags of trash from over 40 miles of Route 3, Route 233, and Route 102 from the Mount Desert Island and Trenton areas.
