May 29, 2018

Bill Weir, President and CEO of Bar Harbor Savings and Loan, announced the hiring of Zoran Manev to fill the position of Internal IT Specialist.

Zoran has a B.S. in Computer Science from International Slavic University Gavrilo Romanovic Derzavin-Sveti Nikole, in Macedonia. His responsibilities include reviewing the bank’s outsourced IT systems and procedures to ensure they comply with federal regulations, as well as performing routine IT upgrades and maintenance.

“I am passionate about IT,” Zoran says. “In Macedonia I provided IT services, developed networks, and maintained PCs.” He worked as a software developer and computer system administrator. His duties included installing and updating software and guarding against malware. Zoran then transitioned to working in the banking industry. He was promoted to the position of manager at a branch of TTK Bank in Macedonia before moving to Maine.

“Zoran has over a decade of banking experience. He brings a history of working with financial institutions together with a degree in computer science that is a good fit for us,” says Vicky Vendrell, Senior Vice President and Treasurer of BHSL. “He and his family have made this community their home. As one of Maine’s few locally-owned banks that is important for us, too.

Zoran lives in Bar Harbor with his wife Dejana and their son Kristian. “Kristian was born after we moved to Mount Desert Island,” Zoran says. “He is a Mainer.” He and Dejana are grateful for the welcome they have received here. “We look forward to becoming citizens,” Zoran says. “This is home.”

Zoran is pleased to join the growing team at the bank, and will be contributing to the high standard of service provided by Bar Harbor Savings and Loan.
