Bar Harbor Savings and Loan announces personnel changes

A new Mortgage Assistant has been hired and a Mortgage Department Manager announced in recent personnel changes at Bar Harbor Savings and Loan.
Rhonda Sawyer, who has served as Mortgage Loan Specialist with the bank for five years, has been promoted to Mortgage Department Manager. A graduate of Kaplan University and the Northern New England School of Banking, Rhonda's responsibilities will include meeting with all loan applicants, conducting mortgage loan closings, managing commercial loan processing, review, and compliance, and managing quality control on all loans. She will continue to work closely with Island Housing Trust and Bar Harbor Housing Authority to make affordable housing loans supporting the Community Reinvestment Act.
“Rhonda has an excellent rapport with customers,” said Bill Weir, President of the Savings and Loan. "The bank is fortunate to have a mortgage specialist with Rhonda's expertise, and the Board is pleased to promote Rhonda to her new position."
Rhonda Sawyer has recently been promoted to the position of Mortgage Department Manager.
In additional news, Jo Gollapinni has been hired as Mortgage Assistant. She replaces the position left vacant by Sharon Kelly, who has retired after 16 years with the bank. Jo's duties include all aspects of mortgage processing and working with customers regarding loan products. She comes to the bank with a Bachelor's of Science and a Master's degree in Computer Science, and was previously employed at Bar Harbor Bank and Trust.

Jo, her husband, and daughter are year-round residents of Bar Harbor. "We came here because my husband was hired by Jackson Lab," Jo says. "We had no idea what to expect, but we have found home." In addition to working full-time at the bank, Jo hikes with her husband and daughter when they have the chance, and enjoys getting to know their neighbors.
“We are pleased to have Jo join our team,” said Rhonda. “Her background in banking will greatly benefit the bank and our customers.”
